I took this picture of a melting piece of ice at one of the most fantastic places of Iceland, the glaciër lake Jökulsárlón. This lake is situated at the tongue of the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier. Recently it became the deepest lake in Iceland at over 248 meters. That particularly morning in august it was quiet. Maybe because of the bad weather. Misty and sometimes raining. I took pictures at that lake for more than 3 days but that morning I concentrate on small pieces of the icebergs. With some fantasy you can see a lot of creatures in the melting ice. One of them was this ice fish.

This picture shows a family of Red-breasted Mergansers (Mergus serrator) is taken in a geothermal pool nearby Husavik on Iceland. While taken the image I was standing in the pond in the warm water. This Red-breasted Merganser was searching for food for his chicks.

This mail orca is surfing on high waves. Image is taken from a small boat around Andenes on the Vesteralen, Norway. They show this behaviour when the waves are high. The have to breath and don't want to take the risk that there will come water in the breathing hole.

This image shows the caracteristic rockformations on the black beach at Vik, Iceland. Image is taken with a long shutterspeed to create this effect around the big rock in the foreground.
