Biography Heike Odermatt

Born and raised in the South of Germany, Heike Odermatt lives since her 16th in the Southern part of The Netherlands. Her love for beautiful nature photos was early born. As a child she was fond of pictures and she dreamed herself to stand behind the camera and photograph the wild animals and lovely landscapes. But she never thought that it would come true.

Nature photography

In 2002 she decided seriously to address nature photography as a hobby. Her first trip to Iceland was also the first trip purely in the name of nature photography. It’s an indescribable feeling to be able to experience nature in this way. In the meantime, nature and wildlife photography became her real passion.

Nature is like a book, that no man can never ever read out. Ever time you go back to nature it seems like the book is getting thicker and thicker. She practices nature photography is a fair and responsible manner. We are after all a guest in nature.

Heike is member of he Nature Photographers Association Eindhoven (VNFE, The Netherlands), the Nature Photographers Guild (NFG, The Netherlands) and the Society of German nature Photographers (GDT, Germany)
